£12.00 / £10.00 concessions
The third in a series of pre-Fair talks hosted in the run up to the 2016 edition of Photo London, Photo London Presents: The Future of Photography brings together some of the most exciting young photographers working today.
Photographers Chloe Dewe Mathews, Lydia Goldblatt and Juno Calypso will discuss their practice and how it sits within the new era of photography in which images are taken, shared and reproduced on a previously unprecedented scale.
The panel will be chaired by Brandei Estes, Head of Photography at Sotheby’s, who will lead a discussion that will explore how technological advances are affecting the production of new work, how new perceptions alter the commercial art world and how the role of the curator adapts to these new contextual frameworks. This timely discussion investigates how artists and amateurs alike are shaping the future of photography as a medium.
Photo London 2016 (19-22 May 2016) is a unique festival of photography, centred on a major international photography fair. Running once again in the spectacular and historic grounds of Somerset House, the fair showcases the broad spectrum of photographic practice, from vintage to contemporary. This series of discussions aims to address some of the key themes affecting photography today.
A full programme of talks will also run during Photo London 2016 as part of a larger public programme supported by the LUMA Foundation
