Performance

SHOWstudio.com's championing of live performance fashion has played a crucial part in the development of a new fashion experience: the fashion film, which encompasses the physical performance of the model as well as the photographer, designer and stylist. One of the installations which reflected this idea was Fash-Off in which designer Gareth Pugh used SHOWstudio.com live as a platform to stage his own performances.
Sittings was a series of live fashion stills created by menswear stylist Simon Foxton. At selected times during the exhibition, a different model was styled in an outfit by a different fashion designer. You could call that day's model live. See the results live at the exhibition by clicking here.
Elsewhere, in Nick Knight's film Freedom of Love, Brad Pitt was caught in deliberately self-reflective mode. David Weightman and Ed Griffiths are among the other artists who took part in Performance.
