A special family screening of the BAFTA winning Best Short Animation. Before and after the film, there were Free family drop-in workshops looking at how a film starts its life as drawings and showing you how to create your own storyboard with a storyboard artist.

Often called a directors' director, Roeg has passionate fans from Danny Boyle to Guillermo del Toro. Behind the Screen featured an interview with the filmmaker himself as we explored his work and influence on subsequent generations with a special video tribute from high profile fans.

Cinema Extreme Shorts (18)
Film4 and the UK Film Council's innovative short-film scheme returned with a new line-up of bold and challenging work. It was a rare chance to see three of the four 2009 titles together in one programme, including the debut short by multi-screen video installation artists Jane and Louise Wilson.
