Your Questions

Do I need to do anything before I arrive?
Please check your tickets to make sure that they are for the correct date and time, and that you have the correct number of tickets. If the date time or quantity are not what you were expecting, please contact Ticketmaster as soon as possible on 0844 847 1520 quoting your reference number.

What shall I do when I arrive?
If your tickets have not been posted to you, collect them from the on-site box office.  You can then proceed directly to the ice skating entry point where you will exchange part of your ticket for a wristband that enables you to collect your skates and get on the ice. Skate hire is included in your ticket price.

Please arrive at Somerset House at least 20 minutes before your skating session begins so that you have time to get your skates and still enjoy a full hour on the ice.

Must children be accompanied on the Ice Rink?
Children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult on the ice.

Is there a cloakroom?
Yes. Bags and bulky items are not allowed on the ice. These can be left at the cloakroom for a charge of £1 for up to two items.  Please note that items are left in the cloakroom at the owner’s risk.

What should I wear?
Remember that the Ice Rink is open air so dress warmly. Wet weather clothing is recommended for inclement days. Wear thick socks for extra comfort and don’t forget your gloves. Hats, socks and gloves are all available to purchase on site.

What size boots can I hire?
The smallest skating boot is a child’s size 7, which is a European size 25. This will fit children aged approximately 3 to 4 years. The largest skating boot is a 15, which is a European size 50.

What happens in bad weather?
The Ice Rink is open air and will only be closed in extreme weather conditions. Remember to dress warmly and wear something waterproof if you are worried it might rain.

Can I bring my friends to watch?
Spectating is free and spectators are welcomed at the Ice Rink. They can either watch from one of the viewing platforms or keep warm in the Skate Café & Bar overlooking the rink.

I'm a wheelchair user. Can I skate?
We have two dedicated sessions for wheelchair users. Due to health and safety regulations, it is not possible for wheelchair users to be on the ice at the same time as other customers. Electric wheelchairs are permitted but must be switched to manual setting whilst on the ice.

The serious bit...
Ice skating is a sport with inherent risks. Patrons skate at their own risk.

Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
