An Introduction to Screen-Printing with Print Club London
Saturday 30 July & Saturday 6th August 2016, 12.00-14.00
East Wing, £10.00, ages- 13-17, parental consent needed in advance

This workshop will introduce participants to the practise and art of screen-printing. Print Club London will guide members through what’s involved in screen-printing, and how artists begin to imagine their work in this form. The workshop will culminate with the creation of your own print using a template and stencil technique, ready to take home.

Embankment Galleries, £10.00, ages 13-17, parental consent needed in advance

This workshop will introduce participants to the practice of character design. Participants will experiment with an approach to characterization rooted in their own observations on themselves. They will then be guided through the process of designing and defining a character, focusing on conveying their character insights through physical appearance and a simple action. The workshop will culminate with the creation of the participants’ own avatar, as they make their characters come to life using simple animation techniques.

Now is the Time is a two day participatory workshop led by Dash n Dem and Camila Gonzalez for 16-21 year olds, particularly those interested in politics, performance and technology. Become immersed in a collective struggle for utopia; self organise, respond to negotiations, create demands and develop your own strategies of creative resistance.

Join us every weekend in the Treasury to take part in Utopia 2016 a year of imagination and possibility.

Make & Do with the Treasurers: fun and creative activities that explore utopian ideas from the past, present and future. Suitable for all ages, materials provided.

Tell us about your Utopia; contribute a post it note with your thoughts and help us to disseminate lessons for how we might live, make, work and play better.

Meet the Treasurers; have a chat about the original text Utopia by Thomas More and the Utopia 2016 programme.

Or simply relax and enjoy the Treasury; browse our micro library of Utopian literature and play songs on A Jukebox of People Trying to Change the World by Ruth Ewan.
