Award winning author Philip Pullman is best known for the His Dark Materials trilogy, an epic coming of age saga based in a fantasy world of parallel universes and armoured polar bears. He has written many children's books, as well as adult fiction, non-fiction titles, plays and comics and believes that 'stories are the most important thing in the world. Without stories, we wouldn't be human beings at all.'
