Stornoway

Saturday 9 July

Though British alternative indie folk band Stornoway may hail from Oxford, they are named after the Scottish town of the same name, on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis. The group's music is filled to the brim with dazzling melodies and heartfelt lyrics, rooted in a folk sensibility. The band debuted their jangly, largely acoustic, sound in 2010 with the album Beachcomber's Windowsill, which has drawn comparisons to James, Belle & Sebastian and XTC.
