What Next

For the past three years Somerset House’s What Next young artist development project has invited young people from across London and with varied musical backgrounds to collaborate in workshops focusing on writing new music and culminating in a performance to 3,000 people at the Somerset House Summer Series, supporting artists including N-Dubz, Ms Dynamite and Aloe Blacc. 

This year we are launching a new opportunity for 5 emerging young songwriters aged 18-24 from London to develop their material with live musicians, mentor support, studio space and access to recording equipment and engineers.

What Next was created by Somerset House Trust with Bigga Fish and Rock School, and produced in association with University of Westminster and Metropolis Music (who co-promote the Summer Series each year).
