Project O is a collaboration between performers Alexandrina Hemsley and Jamila Johnson-Small that arose out of a shared desire to address issues around culturally ingrained racism and sexism in the UK. The duo aim to comment on their experience of being black, mixed race and female in a society still not completely free from its colonial past. With intimate and urgent choreography that make visible positions of otherness, the artists imagine ways of no longer seeming ‘other’. Within an intimate setting they will perform, Native Instincts: Psychic Labours, featuring sound by Verity Susman.

Florence Peake’s practice places drawing, painting and sculptural elements in relationship to the moving body. In this new commission, ‘Voicings’, Peake is working with the phenomenon of 'channeling' where a person embodies a spirit, entity or personality from another space-time. This performance explores the boundaries of theatricality and physicality in the process of becoming a 'channel'.
