Please note that on Sunday 8 March the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court will be closed to the public, therefore there will be no through access from the Strand entrance of Somerset House to the South Wing. Entrance to Guy Bourdin: Image Maker, Invitation Strictly Personal and Beard will be via the Great Arch entrance to Somerset House on Victoria Embankment or via the River Terrace link bridge on Lancaster Place.
The Courtauld Gallery will only be accessible from the Strand entrance.
Smoking is not permitted inside the buildings. Smoking is permitted on the River Terrace and in The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court.
Non-commercial photography is welcomed in most parts of Somerset House except, for reasons of copyright, in the Seamen's Hall and the King's Barge House. The use of tripods is not permitted for safety reasons. Visitors wishing to take non-flash photography at The Courtauld Gallery should enquire at the admissions desk. Unauthorised wedding photography is not permitted.
The fountains are now switched off for the winter period. They will return in spring 2015.
The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court is at the heart of Somerset House - a dignified courtyard with a mischievous streak.
The array of jets dance in an orchestrated sequence, with added coloured lighting at night - a refreshing surprise on a warm summer day.
