City Living - Works from the Fleming Collection

This exhibition, encompassing a broad range of subjects relating to city life, was hosted by Somerset House Trust to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Fleming-Wyfold Foundation.

The works by historic and contemporary artists explored perceptions of public spaces and imaginary scenes as well as human activity and thought. The strong understanding of representational painting was evident in many of the paintings and characteristic of contemporary and historic Scottish art.
