Forgotten Spaces was about looking at the future development of our cities differently. Based on an open ideas competition run by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), architects, engineers, students and designers of all kinds were invited to submit proposals for overlooked spaces across Greater London.

Our cities are awash with obscure pockets of land, from land under flyovers, unloved green verges and disused car parks, Forgotten Soaces asked how we might reclaim them. From underground climbing tunnels, city grottos, rooftop social hubs and inhabited church spires, this exhibition showcased a range of imaginative proposals from all over the capital and explored alternative ways to use and interact with urban space.
