This exhibition has finished
22 June - 15 August 2010
Embankment Level, South Wing
An exhibition of work by 100 young people aged 14-16 attending Saturday morning art and design classes at Cleveland College of Art and Design, Hereford College of Art, Leeds College of Art and Plymouth College of art.
The work in the exhibition was produced over a year by 14-16 year olds from 56 different schools, in special Saturday classes at their local colleges of Art and Design. The pupils were taught by a tutor at the college and student volunteers assisted. Masterclasses were given by Antony Gormley, Thomas Heatherwick, Simon Waterfall and Dominic Lippa.
The young people were the pioneers in a pilot set up by the Sorrell Foundation in Autumn 2009 to develop a National Club which could operate at up 100 colleges and universities across the country. The response from the schools, colleges and young people was resoundingly positive.
