Then the Creative Careers Academy is for you!

The Creative Careers Academy offers young people aged 18-25 work placements and workshops to support early professional development in the creative industries.  We aim to tackle the challenges faced by under-represented young people struggling to establish their careers.

Open Skills Events

Join us for a series of open events (bookable) to hear the inside voices from the Creative sector and to hone your skills to give yourself a competitive edge in the workplace.

In the second of our series of Open Skills events, join Hypen Lab’s Ece Tankal & Dr Romy Gad el Rab as they give an introduction to virtual reality (VR), content development, technical options, current research and how to get the ideas started.

A practical workshop bringing business acumen and finance skills to equip you in a professional working environment that underpin creativity and ensure sustainable business.

Explore a potential business idea or project using the five stages of the Sprint Process. You will gain insight into problem solving, feasibility testing and above all, take away a tried and tested approach to evolving creative ideas.

Creative Job Studio

Our Creative Job Studio in partnership with The Creative Society returns this Autumn/Winter, keep up to date and register here by ticking the Creative Careers box.

Thu 25 Oct 2018 - The Creative Job Studio is heading off-site at the Futures Festival, in Angell Town, Brixton, join us and participate in fun activities, gain career advice and CV / portfolio support.

Thu 29 Nov 2018 – Join Somerset House and our partners The Creative Society in collaboration with Improbable Theatre’s Winter Mentoring Fete (with more to follow very soon)

Work placements

The first Creative Careers Academy work placements began on 1 June 2018 and will run until the end of February 2019.  They are hosted by Somerset House Trust with Improbable, British Fashion Council, Fuel, Creative United and Mighty.  They have enabled five young people unrivalled access to the creative community of Somerset House through 9-month full time London Living Wage employment.
