Acclaimed Welsh chef Bryn Williams opened his first London restaurant and bar in a decade here at Somerset House in spring 2018. Expect a casual, modern British dining experience with fruit and veg taking centre stage, alongside a fantastic bar for every occasion.

Williams’ Somerset House menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Fruits and vegetables are the stars of the show, with small plates including the likes of rainbow carrots, hand-dived scallop, sauterne, and pickled mooli, black garlic, raw apple, sage and Cumbrian beef.

Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli, olive tapenade, sage beignet, scorched Cornish mackerel, and char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushrooms. Dishes are also be available from the grill, such as grilled cauliflower, golden raisin, capers, soft polenta. In a continuation of the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also be on offer, such as charred chicory, sour onions, smoked ricotta and rapeseed oil dressing. Signature, fruit-heavy desserts include bay leaf panna cotta, blackberry, lime curd and poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.

The space is also home to a draught beer bar, the only one at Somerset House, with statement overhead copper beer casks and bar fronts made from Welsh slate. Both the bar and the restaurant serve as a hub for Somerset House’s resident creative community and wider visitors.

In recognition of the 24/7 exhibition, acclaimed Welsh Chef Bryn Williams is turning this unrelenting pressure on its head with the curation of a limited-edition slow food menu showcasing techniques which do not fit with modern lifestyles. 

The slow food menu will feature fresh, locally sourced produce with fruit and vegetables taking centre stage as well as specially chosen ingredients known for their stress and anxiety reducing properties.

Available for lunch Monday - Friday and dinner Monday - Saturday.

I’m a firm believer that a piece of fruit or veg should be treated with the same amount of care and respect as a cut of meat or fillet of fish – if not more. I’m thrilled to be opening a new restaurant that’s not only in a stunning location, but where fresh, locally sourced produce is the focus and fruit and veg take centre stage.
