Vacancy for Director of Exhibitions
We are seeking an exceptional individual with extensive curatorial and leadership experience in exhibition making to play a major role in shaping and delivering Somerset House’s exhibition programme, as well as forming a vital part of the organisation’s senior management team.

Working at a strategic level, with an international outlook but able to get involved in detail, this role is demanding, challenging and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to initiate, manage, curate and deliver ambitious work across Somerset House.

Contract type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Competitive, plus 8% pension contribution

Vacancy for Event Administrator
Somerset House Trust is seeking an Event Administrator to provide efficient financial and contractual administrative support for the Commercial Events team, who are responsible for managing all commercial hires of our event spaces at Somerset House, ranging from drinks receptions and Christmas parties, to fashion shows and film sets.

This role will suit someone highly organised who has experience with financial tracking and chasing payments, and would like to work in an exciting events-based environment.

Contract Type: Casual Worker, Fixed Term (3 month with immediate start),
Rate of Pay: £11.50 per hour (22.5 hours per week)

Vacancies for Ice Marshals
Somerset House Trust is seeking confident practising ice skaters to join the Visitor Experience department as Ice Marshals with specific responsibility for visitors on the ice rink during Skate, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.

Ideal candidates will be friendly, engaging and enjoy working with the public. You will be required to assist skaters of all abilities and be willing to share your skating tips with our visitors. Your shift will be divided between on the ice and in skate hire. At times you will also be required to be a ‘Skate Mate’, assisting small groups of skaters.

Contract Type: Casual Worker, Fixed Term (08 November 2021 – 16 January 2022)
Rate of Pay: £10.85 per hour, plus accrual of holiday pay

Vacancies for Ice Supervisors
Somerset House Trust is seeking experienced practising ice skaters to join our Visitor Experience team as Ice Supervisors, with specific responsibility for leading the team of Ice Marshals during Skate.

The role requires experience of managing at team in a cultural or leisure-based environment, ideally with ice rink experience. You will yourself be an accomplished ice skater and will ensure excellent standards from your team both on the ice and in skate hire. Candidates should have experience in customer complaint handling, as well as dealing with staff performance issues.

Contract Type: Casual Worker, Fixed Term (07 November 2021 – 16 January 2022)
Rate of Pay: £14.80 per hour, plus accrual of holiday pay

Vacancy for Duty Manager (Skate)
Somerset House Trust is seeking a Duty Manager to support the management of day-to-day visitor experience and daily operations of Skate at Somerset House.

The role requires experience of managing large site-specific projects, but it is not essential to have ice rink management experience. You will have trained and led large teams and supported the operational delivery of events. You should have a current knowledge of working with ticketing systems, ideally Tessitura, and managing an onsite box office.

Contract Type: Casual Worker, Fixed Term (05 November 2021 – 16 January 2022)
Rate of Pay: £16.86 per hour, plus accrual of holiday pay
