Deborah Pearson is a Canadian writer, performer, producer and founder / co-director of the multi-award winning Forest Fringe. Innovation, intimacy and narrative are central to her practice, which includes solo and collaborative work, and she works frequently as a dramaturg for companies such as Made in China and Action Hero.

Deborah was awarded a Herald Angel for her show Like You Were Before, which was also shortlisted for the Total Theatre Award for Innovation and the Arches Brick Award. Her work has been presented by the Lir (Dublin), Fusebox Festival (Austin), PuSH (Vancouver), Vooruit (Gent), the Abron Arts Centre (New York City), Malta Poznan Festival (Poznan), Culturgest (Lisbon), Alkantara Festival (Bilbao), Nuit Blanche (Brussels), bit teatergarasjen and Volt (Bergen), TPAM (Tokyo), ArtSnap (Hong Kong), and Theatre Garonne (Toulouse). Along with her fellow Forest Fringe co-directors, she is listed on the Stage 100 list of influential people in British theatre.
Whilst in residence, Deborah developed her show History History History and is currently developing a new piece for Clean Break with playwright Stacey Gregg. Her time at the studios will explore dialogues between different practices with other artists in residence.
