Join us for a weekend of DIY modular synth making. 

This Music Hackspace workshop is part of Nocturnal City: London - Barcelona. This second event in the Nocturnal City series explores the London – Barcelona interplay with an evening of panels, installations and music performances with a focus on independent creators, DIY practices, breaking down barriers and building new structures. For this event Music Hackspace has invited Barcelona based synthesiser designers Befaco to lead two days of workshops where you can build modular synth kits.

When you book your place you will be charged a £20 booking fee. With this item you will be booking a spot in our workshop.

Please note there will be no refunds of the booking fee in case of cancelling / not showing.

This £20 booking fee will be deducted during the workshop from the price of the kit/s of your choice. On the workshop day please bring cash to pay for your kit/s.

You will be emailed to find out which module/s you’d like to build.

Those attending the workshop (11.00 to 19.00) will receive a 30% discount for the Nocturnal Cities Evening ticket (music performances only, 20.00 to 00.30). We will email you the discount code after you’ve booked your place.

Befaco is a Synth DIY/open hardware platform focused on designing modules and organizing modular synth workshops regularly in Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin and London. You can read Befaco Workshops FAQ’s for more details.

This is a hands on workshop, build your own synth modules in eurorack format. Music Hackspace will provide all the necessary components to build your device from scratch. Each participant builds her/his own machine during the workshop.

Required skills: Interest and patience. No previous experience in electronics is necessary.

Required materials: Fine tip soldering iron less than 25w is recommended (Music Hackspace provide soldering irons and hand tools for participants who don’t have their own).
