Somerset House

In light of the current situation, and following the advice from Government, we have made the decision to close our public exhibitions and events until at least 01 June.

As all our tours are led by volunteers we feel that it is best to cancel them until further notice. This is in the interest of the safety of own wonderful volunteers as we are sure you can appreciate they are hugely valued and much loved members of our Somerset House community.

Please keep checking our website as we will have the tours up and running again as soon as we can.

Somerset House Studios is a new experimental workspace connecting artists, makers and thinkers with audiences in the former Inland Revenue offices.

Each month visitors can discover how we’ve transformed this wing of our building into a working space for creatives in the heart of the city by joining one of two Somerset House Studio tours.

Each tour will explore areas where work is shown and developed, visiting the communal spaces our Studios residents share and giving a glimpse behind the scenes into artists' studios. A highlight of the tour will be the chance to explore Maker Street, the dramatic alleyway visible from Waterloo Bridge where many of the studios are located.

Tours take approximately 45 minutes.

When tours return you will be able to book tickets in advance.

Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis with a maximum 6 tickets per person booking.

This tour is fully accessible and open to all with the exception of the Gym which has a number of steps. The Gym however is at the end of the tour and therefore can be missed.
