Join us for Tales of the Thames; a host of writers and historians delve deep into the riveting history of the capital’s waterway for a one-off event on 19 May ahead of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
Picture This at Somerset House - Writers' Talks in The Courtauld Gallery, took place again in 2011, our current Writer in Residence Frances Wilson invited writers to describe an artwork that excited, engaged or provoked them. Find out more about our previous Writers in Residence here.
Somerset House is also home to the Royal Society of Literature, an organisation which was founded by King George IV in 1820, to 'reward literary merit and excite literary talent'. The RSL run a regular programme of lectures and debates. Find out about forthcoming events on their website.
