At Somerset House, we are deeply saddened by the news of the Queen’s death. We share in the deep sorrow that people across the country, and throughout the world, will be feeling today.
The Queen visited Somerset House in 2012 to open our renovated East Wing, as pictured here. Her visit was a very special occasion, and we were grateful for her generosity and warmth on that important day for Somerset House.
Our exhibitions will be closed on Monday 19 September as a mark of respect on the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
