Makerversity & Upgrade Yourself Residency: Graphics and Animation

Dates: Monday 22 - Friday 26 January (5 days)
Times: 9.30 - 18.00 daily

The week will include hands-on practical sessions exploring how to get into the Animation and Graphics industries with Makerversity member experts and tours of exciting studios based in Somerset House. Over the week you will explore character building, start to end of the stop motion animation process and virtual world building using Unreal Engine.

Makerversity Experts

DREW RICHARDS
Drew makes things that make people smile, he is a game designer and lecturer focusing on play. With a background in making and fabrication his work focuses on commercial tabletop games as well as gamifaction workshops and events for public engagement and education.

MICA WARREN
Mica is an Irish illustrator/2D animator currently living and working in London. His work focuses on character design and spans a range of personal/commercial projects for clients including Nike, Apple and MTV. 

TAREG AL-ZAMEL
Graduated from Brunel university in Product Design before working in TV production as a graphic designer and animator. This is where Tareg discovered his passion in telling a story through animation. Whether it's frame by frame, motion graphics, 3D animation or stop motion. Each medium brings a new set of challenges and produces unique takes on storytelling. 

DAVID REASON
David Reason is a visual artist, creative technologist, and spatial designer. He holds a BSc in Architecture from BHT Berlin, as well as an MA in Interior and Spatial Design from the UAL. David uses game engines, immersive technologies, 3D printing, and metalwork to create immersive experiences, cinematics, virtual spaces, and physical objects.
