Upcycling is a growing trend in the fashion industry. Upcycling involves creating new garments through cutting and stitching together discarded clothing and other fabrics. It extends the time that outdated clothes can be worn by giving them a fresh lease of life. The challenge lies in transforming ‘trash’ into treasure — so you are encouraged to push the boundaries of your creativity and to experiment. To walk this category you need to be inventive and imaginative, and bring it in a bold upcycled look, fit to walk the runway.

Through targeted campaigns and demonstrations, the activist organisation was determined to spread warnings about HIV/AIDS, to make the government take notice, and to fund research and support the pursuit of a cure.
