During this workshop, Mizuyo will share her knowledge of kintsugi – the art of mending ceramics with gold – including a few stories that will give you insight into the culture of tea ceremonies and the aesthetics behind the practice.
Following this, she will explain the use of the traditional craft material urushi, and provide a demonstration of fixing a hairline pottery crack. Then, you will have the opportunity to ask Mizuyo questions. This workshop is suitable for beginners and is free to attend.
Materials Required:
Due to the nature of urushi repair requiring plenty of time and waiting periods, this workshop is to follow along and take notes only.
