Relax and soak up the atmosphere from 18.30, when doors open. A DJ will play from 18.45 and the film begins at approx. 21.00 as the sun goes down.
Confirmed DJs, programmed with Euphonica, include the founder of the legendary London club night Blow Up, Paul Tunkin, who'll play ahead of the anniversary screening; self-confessed Studio Ghibli superfan Norsicaa (itself a play on the name of the Studio’s first feature film) will be here for My Neighbour Totoro, and hip hop DJ and producer DJP will open the PattiCake$ premiere.
What should I bring?
There is no fixed seating in the courtyard. You are welcome to bring your own blankets, small cushions and backrests to sit on (sorry no chairs, large items or portable furniture — inflatable or otherwise).
You can pre order blankets and backrests via Ticketmaster at the same time as purchasing tickets, to collect at the venue on the night. These are yours to keep after the event.Please note that backrests are not available through Ticketmaster's mobile site.
Alternatively, blankets, backrests and cushions can be purchased on-site for £5.00–£15.00
The screenings are open air. The audience area is not covered. The screenings will go ahead whatever the weather – come rain or come shine. Please come prepared as no wet weather provisions will be provided.
No cameras, video cameras or audio recording devices. No re-admission. Pets are not permitted into the courtyard for this event.
Please consider our neighbours and leave Somerset House quietly.

Wheelchair users and registered disabled patrons are entitled to one free PA/Carer ticket, to be booked through the Ticketmaster Accessibility team – number above (subject to documentation).
Wheelchair users should request a “Platform Access ticket” when booking their chosen screening. This ticket guarantees the disabled patron and their carer a place on the viewing platform for the duration of the screening. The platform is situated at the rear of the courtyard. Spaces are limited.
The Platform is not able to accommodate large groups. If disabled patrons are part of a larger group, their friends and family may be able to sit directly in front of the platform however please contact Cat Stroud at Somerset House on 020 7845 4613 after booking your tickets.
Food & Drink
A range of food is available to buy on site, and there is a fully-licensed bar and coffee point. You are welcome to bring your own picnic, but we regret that no glass, crockery or sharp knives are allowed into the courtyard.
Tom’s Kitchen are offering a selection of picnic hampers which can be bought via Ticketmaster at the same time as purchasing tickets, to collect at the venue on the night. These will be available to purchase up until 3 working days before the event. If you have any special dietary requirements please contact Tom’s Kitchen direct to arrange alternatives. Please note that hampers are not available through Ticketmaster's mobile site.
A Peroni Nastro Azzurro bar, serving their new aperitivo, Peroni Ambra will also be open in the West Wing (next to the courtyard).
You are welcome to bring alcohol in to the site, but we ask that customers bring no more than the equivalent of one bottle of wine or four cans of beer per person. We reserve the right to use our discretion and may confiscate anything in excess of this brought on to the site. Please remember no glass is allowed on to the site and any bottles need to be decanted in to plastic.
Please check the age certificate of the film you are booking. Entrance to double bill programmes is restricted to the film of highest certification, even if you are only planning to stay for one film.
The certification of premieres is to be confirmed at time of going on sale. Should the certification of premieres change, Somerset House will advise all customers in advance and refund any ticket sold to anyone below the age of certification.
Due to the nature of the event children under the age of 4 including babies are not permitted to attend.
Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
