Photo London 2023 Talks | Fri 12 May

Providing you with unique insight into some of the world’s most exciting voices in medium, the Talks Programme features leading photographers, curators, writers and critics to discuss the photographic medium and its significance in the contemporary art world today.   

Talk tickets cost £9.50, these can be booked via the Somerset House website. Nikon talks are free of charge however booking in advance is strongly advised. 

Talk tickets do not include admission to the Fair. You must purchase a Day Pass ticket alongside your Talk ticket for the same day as the talk is taking place. Talks start promptly in The Screening Room at the scheduled time please arrive five minutes before the talk starts to avoid disappointment.

Writing her own Script; Women Photographers from the Hyman Collection
Photographers Eliza Hatch and Bindi Vora talk to co-founder of the Centre for British Photography Claire Hyman about their imagery in 'Writing her own script', which celebrates many of the pioneering women photographers at work in Britain over the last 100 years.

Aperture presents: Parasol Prize | Agents of Change
The V&A Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography is an exciting new annual initiative dedicated to identifying, supporting, and championing innovative women artists working in the field of contemporary photography. Join Fiona Rogers of the V&A as she sits down with five of the ten 2023 finalists to discuss their work in relation to this edition’s theme, Agents of Change.

Join Marta Weiss (V&A), Shoair Mavlian (The Photographers’ Gallery), and Mark Sealy (AUTOGRAPH) for a conversation around the possibilities — and obstacles — facing the city’s photo community. Moderated by David Campany.

Following a recent feature in Aperture magazine celebrating his records of subcultures that brim with life, Nick Waplington will be joined by Simon Baker to discuss his upcoming survey book Comprehensive and more.
