A weekend of festivities welcoming all to enjoy food, music, screenings, artist talks & workshops with intergenerational pioneers of our time. The weekend celebrates the cultural contribution of the Windrush generation & their descendants.

Highlights include

Artistic director of Young Vic Theatre and exhibition ambassador Kwame Kwei-Armah OBE introduces his BBC series Soon Gone: A Windrush Chronicle, in conversation with his fellow executive producer Angela Ferreira.

Radio presenter, musician and filmmaker Don Letts premieres his film In Those Days, which documents various personal histories from the Windrush generation.

Community activist Patrick Vernon OBE relaunches the 100 Great Black Britons campaign, inviting nominations from the public. 

Renowned dance teacher and choreographer Namron OBE performs a movement piece before unpicking his route into industry and inviting attendees to perform with him collectively.

Masters of the London street food scene KERB present a variety of British Caribbean and African inspired food vendors to Somerset House’s courtyard all weekend long.

All exhibitions will have extended opening hours 10.00 - 20.00 and the first 100 Get Up Stand Up Now exhibition tickets per day will be made available at the reduced rate of £5.00.
