As part of the legacy of Nocturnal City, new Associate Artists Resis’dance host a workshop aimed at ending dancefloor discrimination. For allies and people who want to intervene.

Resis’dance host a workshop aimed at empowering a women and non-binary people on the dancefloor using the Theatre of the Oppressed techniques to build up the confidence to intervene successfully when you see dancefloor discrimination or experience it.

Participants will learn how to create a safer space at events/festivals/parties using interactive techniques and de-escalation tactics to deal with racism, homophobia and misogyny and harassment. You will come out with a better understanding of what a safe space is, how to maintain it and the importance of it.

Spaces for the workshop are limited. If you’re interested in taking part, please send us a few words telling us about yourself and why you would like to join the workshop. Apply by 24 August 2018.
