Amplify 2022

25 Jan 2022

Continuing our partnership on Amplify Digital Arts Initiative, this March will see Somerset House Studios host an online residency programme that connects and empowers an active network of women-identifying artists and professionals working in the digital arts, sound and immersive storytelling sectors in Canada, Latin America and the UK.

Over two weeks, the artist cohort will access a range of opportunities to develop technical skills and acquire practical and professional advice, alongside opportunities to interact and create connections remotely with other Amplify residents based across the globe.

Marking the third Amplify residency at Somerset House Studios following Amplify 2019 and Amplify 2020, this programme is shaped by a select group of leading international artists, curators and producers working within the fields of digital arts, electronic music and artistic development. Taking form as an engaging series of lectures, workshops, conversations, and studio demonstrations, elements of this programme will be open to the general public through our ongoing Grounding Practice strand - a series of events that intends to convene creative audiences in exchanging methodologies and experiences for creating and learning.

Amplify D.A.I. is an initiative of the British Council in partnership with MUTEK, Somerset House Studios, Oi Futuro and Artlab. Connecting different cultures and experiences, it is a platform for dialogue on access, inclusion and gender equality between local and international industry professionals. Amplify took place for the first time during MUTEK Montréal in 2018, followed by editions at MUTEK in Buenos Aires and Mexico City.
