A highlight of London’s summer calendar, the series features everything from red-carpet premieres, comedies and musicals to thrillers, action movies and foreign-language films, all shown on a state-of-the-art screen with full surround sound.
Returning this August, Somerset House and Film4 present two weeks of classic, cult and contemporary films, plus new premieres in London's most beautiful open-air cinema.
"Watching a movie under the stars in Somerset House’s beautiful courtyard on a balmy summer evening is a near-perfect London experience."
Ahead of each evening’s film, a line-up of DJs will play sets inspired by the upcoming feature, while audiences enjoy their picnics or tasty treats from the food offering situated around our courtyard.
In addition, a series of Behind the Screen talks from illustrious industry talent and an accompanying film poster exhibition in collaboration with Print Club London make Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House stand out as film fans’ choice of open-air cinema experience.
This year’s line-up will include one of the great American movies of the 1970s All the President's Men, wicked black comedy Cruel Intentions, one of the most talked-about and deeply-felt films of recent times Moonlight and magical animation from the legendary Studio Ghibli in My Neighbour Totoro.
