Is there serviced or private office space at Somerset House?
Yes. Somerset House offers private office space to rent in central London, within our historic period buildings. Private Offices are unfurnished, dedicated spaces, and part-time offices and fixed desks in shared workspaces are also available.
What is hot desking, and can I hot desk at Somerset House?
Hot desking means paying for access to a shared workspace rather than a fixed desk. Somerset House Exchange offers hot desk memberships from pay-as-you-go, plus 30, 50 or 100-hour and unlimited options.
Does Somerset House have workshop or studio space for makers and artists?
Yes, through Makerversity, based in the workshops beneath Somerset House. It's a community of over 300 makers, designers and manufacturing businesses, with access to specialist machinery for woodwork, digital fabrication, film and photography.
Is Somerset House workspace suitable for startups and small businesses?
Yes. Somerset House Exchange is designed for teams of up to six in the arts and creative industries, with bursaries offering up to 75% off membership. Makerversity also offers free residencies for under-30s and mission-driven makers.
