Our Partnership with Morgan Stanley

Somerset House is delighted to be working with Morgan Stanley across our cultural programme. The sponsorship is part of a broader, three-year partnership between Morgan Stanley, Somerset House and The Courtauld, which celebrates ideas, insights and diverse perspectives. The partnership with Somerset House includes a range of exhibitions, programmes, and social impact initiatives including:

  • We Are History  - An exhibition in the Terrace Rooms from 16 Oct 2021 – 06 Feb 2022. Curated by Ekow Eshun, a group exhibition offering a different perspective on humanity's impact on the planet by tracing the complex interrelations between today’s climate crisis and legacies of colonialism.
  • The Black Business Incubator, which aims to help early-stage Black entrepreneurs unlock their full potential and allow their creative enterprises to thrive, developed in partnership with Mentor Black Business.
  • A new commission by artist Rene Matić as part of their Somerset House Studios residency, which explores ideas of preservation, protection and cultural property and takes the relationship between Somerset House and The Courtauld as its starting point.
  • Morgan Stanley Lates at Somerset House with The Courtauld - an exciting new Lates series taking place three times per year – in April, June and October in 2022, that offers a true site-wide takeover with exclusive experiences, after-hours access and activities hosted by artists and curators.

The partnership builds on Morgan Stanley’s sponsorship of a collaborative digital programme in 2020 and will run until 2023.
