Somerset House is delighted to be working with Morgan Stanley across our cultural programme. The sponsorship is part of a broader, three-year partnership between Morgan Stanley, Somerset House and The Courtauld, which celebrates opportunities, access and new perspectives. The partnership with Somerset House encompasses a range of exhibitions, programmes, and social impact initiatives including:
- The Morgan Stanley Exhibition: The Missing Thread, which charts the shifting landscape of Black British culture and the unique contribution it has made to Britain’s rich design history.
- The Black Business Incubator, which helps early-stage Black entrepreneurs unlock their full potential and allow their creative enterprises to thrive, developed in partnership with Mentor Black Business.
- Morgan Stanley Lates at Somerset House with The Courtauld, a series of Lates which take place three times per year in April, June and October and offer a true site-wide takeover with exclusive experiences, after-hours access and activities hosted by artists and curators.
- A series of new Artist Commissions by rising talent, interrogating the Somerset House building and environment. Artists include Rene Matić and Amba Sayal-Bennett and Theresa Weber.
- We Are History - An exhibition in the Terrace Rooms from 16 Oct 2021 – 06 Feb 2022. Curated by Ekow Eshun, a group exhibition offering a different perspective on humanity's impact on the planet by tracing the complex interrelations between today’s climate crisis and legacies of colonialism.
