This exhibition explored the profound impact and often invisible infrastructure of the 21st-century data explosion. Featuring specially commissioned and rarely seen works by international new media artists—including Ryoji Ikeda, James Bridle, and Eva and Franco Mattes—the showcase utilised data sourced from both research centers and the public.
Through a diverse collection of artworks and projects, the exhibition visualised complex datasets ranging from global migration and artificial intelligence to social media trends. Against the backdrop of major data-driven news events, Big Bang Data disclosed the hidden truths of the modern data deluge, examining both the advantages and the complex societal dangers of our endlessly recorded lives.
