Our Creative Careers & Skills programme presents this year’s MDX Fashion Show, showcasing the up and coming talent graduating from Middlesex University.

Are you between 14-19 years old and considering a career in the Fashion and Textiles industries? And trying to figure out how to get your portfolio on the right track? This May Somerset House’s Creative Careers & Skills programme presents the MDX Fashion Show, (Middlesex University’s YR3 graduate showcase), and we would be delighted to see you there...

Sign up for your ticket to gain exclusive entry to preview final year students designed portfolios as well as see the catwalk show. Meet with students and tutors beforehand to view the 2D work produced at industry level, discuss design process, research & development and how to apply these skills into a career in the ever-evolving fashion and textiles industry.

You will then have front row (FROW) tickets to see the collections walk the runway with music curated by ‘the first lady of London’s fashion scene’ Culture correspondent Princess Julia.

16.30 Arrive to the Chairman’s entrance of the River & Lancaster rooms to meet the Creative Careers team and start your mentoring session with tutors and students
17.30 Reception opens with portfolio viewing
18.30 Catwalk show begins
19.15 Show ends

Alumni of MDX Fashion have included many international designers and creatives including Christopher Raeburn, Ashish, Zoe Broach, Martine Rose and many more, so bring your notebooks and ideas along to discuss how these will translate to fashion and textiles, join us and be inspired!

What you will gain:

  • Insight into professional portfolio design work at industry level in womenswear, menswear and textile design
  • Mentoring advice from tutors and students, receive feedback that can help tailor your own portfolio ideas
  • Chance to see a professionally produced catwalk fashion show (often closed to a public audience)

This event would benefit school and feeder college groups.

This is a ticketed only event so non-ticket holders will not gain entry. Please bring ID if over 18’s would like to join the drinks reception from 17.30.
