The Devil made them do it! Donnie and Damien, two creepy kids to whom bad things keep happening, team up for a long, dark double-bill of suburban Gothic and Satanic panic. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a star-making performance as Donnie Darko, a troubled teen haunted by both a giant rabbit and a belief that his actions may lead to the end of the world. Providing more questions than answers, the cult puzzle-box from 2001 gets deeper, weirder and more enthralling with each visit (especially in this brand-new digital restoration¸ which gives the spooky mystery a new lease of life).
The real black magic follows later in the night with The Omen, as terror comes to 1970s London in the form of Devil’s spawn Damien Thorn, a seemingly innocent young child who turns out to be from a very bad family. This horror classic still possesses a demonic power more than 40 years after it first terrified audiences, and the Oscar-winning music by Jerry Goldsmith will sound spookier than ever when heard outdoors at midnight.
