Forest Fringe is 10 and to celebrate, the artist-led pioneers of experimental performance are hosting a gathering of people in London to consider changes over the last decade and explore what matters today.

Forest Fringe take over Somerset House Studios for three days of performance, talks, workshops, conversations, installations and exhibitions. Whether you have known about Forest Fringe for many years, or are new to their work, this will be a space of exchange and experimentation, a place to share good ideas and to encounter brilliant people doing interesting things. Everyone is welcome and all Forest Fringe events are free.

Confirmed participants include Action Hero, Andy Field, Arike Oke, Deborah Pearson, Gigi Arguropolou, Farah Saleh, Hamja Ahsan, Ira Brand, Jemima Yong, Liberate Tate, Rima Nadji, Season Butler, Simone Bowes and They Are Here, with more to be announced soon.

Forest Fringe co-director Deborah Pearson is a Somerset House Studios resident.

Messy, badly behaved and sometimes simply astonishing, the theatrical outfit that broke the festival’s mould is celebrating its past shows.

Guardian 2016

Run collaboratively by three artists based in London, Forest Fringe create festivals, host residencies and occasionally commission new work as a way of helping support a large and diverse community of independent artists working across theatre, dance and live art. Existing outside of any major cultural institution and without regular government subsidy, they attempt to provide artists with agency and community and to imagine new ways of existing together under capitalism.

Forest Fringe at Somerset House is supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Somerset House Studios
