Have you been on a march, shouted angrily at something you've seen on the news but don't feel like it's making any difference?

Matthew Bolton's new book How to Resist is a step by step guide for people who want to make a change but aren't sure how. In this workshop session Bolton will talk about recurrent themes in protest, share stories of activism in action and guide you through a session that gives you the tools to become effective activists.

“If anyone knows how to do social change, it's Matthew Bolton who has been at the heart of London Citizen's successful Living Wage campaign. He's a smart, sophisticated operator and his book imparting nuggets on how to take on the system will be eagerly pored over by people who are keen to make a difference but don't quite know how to go about it” – David Cohen, Campaigns Editor and Chief Feature Writer, London Evening Standard,

Matthew Bolton has 11 years experience at Citizens UK, supporting its growth from an organisation of 4 staff and 60 member organisations to an organisation of 65 staff and 350 member organisations. He led the Living Wage campaign between 2008 and 2014, including setting up the Living Wage Foundation, which has now accredited 2,500 Living Wage Employers. Matthew built North London Citizens and Leeds Citizens and now coaches Organisers in London, Leeds, Nottingham and Milton Keynes.

Signed books will be available to buy on the door.
