Music Hackspace Artist Talk: Kacper Ziemianin's LightSeq

FREE
Mon 09 Oct 2017
18.30-21.00
G16
New Wing

LightSeq is an award-winning DIY instrument and performance system for live electronic music. It allows user to program any sequence of lights which are then translated into sound.

This combination opens up a lot of possibilities for controlling, structuring and interacting with sound. This instrument tries to addresses an issue of 'liveness‘ of electronic music performance. How does the audience know if the performance is really live? How can we relate to the actions that the musicians are taking onstage? In case of 'LighSeq' every sound is created and manipulated by various light sources. This creates a direct link between the visual and sonic realm. Watch LightSeq in action

Doors for this event will open at 18.30. The talk will begin at 19.00 with time for Q&A afterwards. Drinks will be available from the bar next to the entrance to the New Wing of Somerset House.
