Thames & Hudson Presents: Illuminating Fashion: Colour and Clothes in Autochromes 1907-1930

Our discussion will explore and evaluate the contribution of the autochrome to the representation of fashion in this period: whether it challenges and alters stereotypical preconceptions of the colour of dress, its impact on fashion photography, and its place in the so-called ‘chromatic modernity’ of the early twentieth century.
