How do our movements, instincts and senses change when they meet robotics and digital systems? When the body becomes both performer and instrument, what does it mean to move, feel and be human? Explore these questions through a series of multi-sensory, interactive works across our Embankment Galleries.
This exhibition celebrates multi award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor’s extraordinary collaborations, bringing together world-leading artists, designers, filmmakers, and musicians. From the visual effects of Industrial Light & Magic and interactive installations by Random International, Google Arts & Culture, to the music of Max Richter, Radiohead, and The Chemical Brothers. The photography, fashion, and film work of Ben Cullen Williams, Ravi Deepres, Jeffrey Shaw, Gareth Pugh, Indigo Lewin, Ruth Hogben, and Nick Knight – Infinite Bodies shows how movement can become a medium that reaches beyond the stage.
Throughout the exhibition, Company Wayne McGregor will be in residence – sometimes rehearsing, sometimes performing, sometimes experimenting. Visitors may witness dancers activating installations or interacting with the space in real time, blurring the line between audience and performance.
Extending beyond Somerset House, a 57-minute 3D, 360° installation On the Other Earth at Stone Nest places you at the heart of a virtual performance. Surrounded by a 3D panoramic LED environment, you can see every detail as hyperreal dancers from Company Wayne McGregor and the Hong Kong Ballet move around you.
The exhibition will feature a programme of talks, music, workshops, events, and relaxed sessions.
Infinite Bodies is curated by Dr Cliff Lauson, Director of Exhibitions at Somerset House, and writer Philippa Dunn.

Essential Visitor Information
Residency
Company Wayne McGregor will be in residence throughout the run of the exhibition. At different moments each week McGregor’s world-class company of dancers may activate installations, facilitate interactions with the works, or rehearse in a small group. Visitors may have the opportunity to watch or interact with the Company, but their appearance is not guaranteed.

To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking early (particularly for peak periods) to secure your preferred time slot.
Please note that the exhibition is closed on Mondays, with the exception of 16 February.
The exhibition will be closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January.
The experience typically takes around 60–90 minutes, but there is no time limit once you’ve entered, feel free to explore at your own pace.
This exhibition has low level lighting.
Large print guides, noise-reducing headphones and stools are available.
Visitors with disabilities may bring a companion free of charge. Disabled companion tickets should only be booked alongside a paid ticket.
Reciprocal entry with an ICOM card or staff pass is valid in person, subject to availability.
Please note that we are not able to offer reciprocal entry for the first two weeks and last two weeks of the exhibition.
We are offering free access to the exhibition on the last Tuesday of each month to Westminster residents, subject to proof of a current Westminster address. Offer available in person only and subject to availability.

Bags and other items
We advise all visitors not to bring bags unless it’s essential. For the safety of the artworks exhibited, suitcases, large bags (larger than A3), backpacks, selfie sticks, professional cameras and tripods, are not permitted inside the exhibition.
Families
Those booking 2 adult and up to 3 child (aged 6-11) tickets or 1 adult and 2 or 3 children (aged 6-11) tickets receive a 10% discount (applied at checkout).
