Instax x Somerset House

Instax’s ‘Arctic Adventure Van’ stops at Lancaster Place, December 2022, for an out of the ordinary on-site activation.

Designed to drive brand affinity, whilst increasing a long-term relationship with Instax cameras amongst a younger generation, this on-site activation was a unique and immersive opportunity wherein members of the public could stop by for a snapshot or portrait inside Instax’s ‘Arctic Adventure Van’ for two weekends in December 2022.

The activation was an enormous success, and our client was very happy. I just want to give a special mention to the team that worked with us, they were all extremely professional, hands on and went over and above to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible… look forward to working with you in the future!

The van was stationed on Lancaster Place – an external courtyard area situated just outside our New Wing, adjacent to Waterloo Bridge, with views of the river beyond – framed by a grand and theatrical entranceway to the Somerset House site. Adorned with columns and period, decorative sculpture, an activation at Lancaster Place enjoys unparalleled public engagement, taking in footfall from Somerset House visitors, commuters and passersby alike. Instax brand ambassadors were on hand to take photographs, and guests enjoyed a free photoshoot – shot on Instax – and a free photographic print to take with them. Covered with an eye-catching iridescent wrap, the van and accompanying installation was a great attraction for family and friends. With a ‘yeti fur’ backdrop and a mirrored kaleidoscope, this Icelandic-inspired, playful activation provided a perfect photo opportunity for the Christmas season.

INSTAX benefitted from the increased footfall on our site over the winter period due to SKATE – a much-loved, seasonal staple in our public programme – with up to 2000 visitors per day interacting with the activation.
