Marking the launch of Omenka‘s special institutional issue, this timely conversation brings together leading voices in scholarship, collecting, arts education and institution-building to explore the infrastructures that will shape the future of African art. The panel will examine the role of critical discourse, archives, publishing, philanthropy, education and independent institutions in sustaining Africa’s artistic ecosystems beyond market success. As African cultural institutions continue to evolve, the discussion asks how knowledge, leadership and collaboration can build a more resilient and self-determined future for African art. Bringing together diverse perspectives from across the cultural landscape, this conversation offers a forward-looking vision of the next chapter in African art’s global story.
