Coastal Connections: A Celebration of Global Heritage by the Sea presented by World Monuments Fund & English Heritage

Why is coastal heritage special? Why is it at risk? What can we learn from the people, communities and organisations around the world that care for these places and why should we listen? This panel discussion embarks on a journey with members of the Coastal Connections global network and explains how coastal heritage sites are facing common challenges together.

Coasts are some of the most dynamic and unpredictable environments on Earth, yet they are also where some of our most treasured places are located. Over the past two years, Coastal Connections has brought together custodians of over fifty sites from around the world, from Antigua to Zanzibar, to share practical solutions for addressing the complex challenges of managing coastal heritage. Drawn from members of the Coastal Connections global network, the panel will discuss why coastal heritage matters, whether we should protect it at all costs, and how we can have honest conversations about managing change, loss, and ultimately, its future.
