Igwe has researched and prepared a live site tour of the building, unravelling narratives of its 150-year history as home to the Inland Revenue. Drawing inspiration from the British drama television series The Gold, in which a tax investigator plays a leading role in uncovering a gold bullion heist, Igwe turns her attention to the lesser-known stories, scandals, and speculative fictions hidden within the architecture of this former government building.
Guided by artist and performer, Samra Mayanja, the tour slips between fact, and half-truth. Informed by Igwe’s ongoing research practice, the event foregrounds sensorial and non-canonical ways of knowing, offering a spatial experience shaped by rhythm, dissonance, and embodied narration.
