Join Music Hackspace for a workshop exploring SuperCollider and its use with MIDI for interfacing both hardware and software synths.

SuperCollider is a powerful, open-source, cross-platform, audio engine and programming language, used not only to create music, but also for machine learning, audio/music reactive installations, performance, interactive systems, research, live-coding and much more.

Requirements: You will need your own computer (OSX / Windows/ Linux), a pair of headphones, MIDI interface, MIDI cable and if possible a synth that accepts MIDI signals. We will have a few midi/synth setups available for use in the workshop. Please email us ahead of booking if you will need to use one of ours.

Joanne Armitage is a creative technologist and artist working with sound, physical computing, digital media and interaction design. Her current practice-based research explores how digital sound can connect with the body through haptic feedback. She is part of livecoding duo Algobabez with Shelly Knotts.

The venue is located on the ground floor of Somerset House and is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet. If you have any other access requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.

If you have any questions about this event or any of our workshops please contact workshops@musichackspace.org.
