Please note this event is for 18–30-year-olds.
Join the team at PageMasters for a lively, hands-on introduction to zine making and independent publishing. Drawing on their experience in risograph printing and small-press publishing, the facilitators will share how ideas move from first concept to finished page, offering insight into DIY print culture and collaborative making.
Through real examples and a short presentation, the workshop will unpack the creative processes behind self-publishing, including how artists, designers and small presses develop visual narratives, experiment with formats, and use risograph printing within contemporary independent publishing.
The session will then move into a practical zine-making workshop. Using custom workbooks, collage materials and worksheets created for the session, you’ll experiment with layout, sequencing, storytelling and image-making to design and build your own self-published mini zine.
There will be time at the end to share what you’ve made, ask questions, and connect with other creatives in the room, creating space for feedback, discussion and exchanging ideas.
This workshop is open to anyone curious about print, design and publishing. No prior experience is needed, just come along and try things out! While risograph printing will be introduced as context, the focus of the session is on the design and creation of your zine, rather than on printing.
As always, free drinks and food provided by Butch Salads will be available throughout the evening.
✨ And here’s the bonus:
All attendees will receive tickets to London Original Print Fair, London’s longest running art fair as it celebrate its 41st year. The London Original Print Fair will take place Thursday 14th May –Sunday 17th May 2026 at Somerset House.
