Often categorised by the press as a kind of indie-rock melting pot (frontman Sameer Gadhia’s parents are Indian immigrants, bassist Payam Doostzadeh is Persian-American, guitar player Jacob Tilley is British, drummer Francois Comtois hails from Quebec) the group has instead chosen to let their music do the talking.
Their seemingly effortless way with writing soaring indie rock choruses has produced a series of certified commercial and critical hits, including My Body and Cough Syrup, aptly described by vocalist Sameer as evoking an “eternal summer.”
The perfect headline act then for a Saturday night, Young the Giant will bring their blissful West Coast vibes to Summer Series with infectious melodies, soaring vocals and an irrepressible, upbeat enthusiasm.
“One of the great contemporary rock voices”
