Appau Jnr Boakye-Yiadom

Installations working across multidisciplinary practice, including found materials and objects, sculpture, photography, sound, performance, archive and self-produced moving image.

Appau Jnr Boakye-Yiadom (b. 1984) lives and works in London. Working across a multi-disciplinary practice, including found materials and objects, sculpture, photography, sound, performance, archive and self-produced moving image, Boakye-Yiadom creates installations where the mediums are ever-evolving, remodelled and constantly conversant with each other.

Incorporating snippets of film footage and fragments of sound into works, as well as collaborating with musicians for live improvisation, Boakye-Yiadom’s work exposes the different steps in its process.

Multilayered references explore where parameter lines are lucid, murky and faint – highlighting cultural collisions that most cultural moments and ideas stem from – to explore how they merge, grow, complicate and evolve new relationships alongside contradictions, fluctuation and uncertainty.
