A day of masterclasses, panel discussions and workshops designed to leave attendees feeling emboldened and equipped with tangible takeaways that can be applied to their own lives.

‘If it sabotages you, bin it. If it empowers you, run with it,’ said Tiwalola Ogunlesi, one of the incredible speakers at Glamour magazine’s first-ever Empowerment Summit, in partnership with Samsung, Squarespace and Tinder. A sold out event taking place in our Embankment Galleries, guests were treated to an empowering morning or afternoon masterclass – with 300 attendees per session – featuring inspiring live speakers and leading experts, such as Munroe Bergdorf, Fearne Cotton, Laura Whitmore, Stefanie Sword Williams, Otegha Uwagba and Glamour’s European Editorial Director, Deborah Joseph, amongst others.

Empowerment is not necessarily one place, it’s a journey.

Host to such companies as Kai Collective and REFY Beauty – and boasting a ‘Manifest-station’ – the event also offered a wide range of workshops, beauty and immersive tech experiences, such as The Samsung Studio (giving attendees the chance to sit for a professional-level headshot or an eye catching portrait); the Tinder Catwalk (giving guests had their ‘main-character moment’ on the runway, which was sent then straight to attendees’ inbox); and on-site hair styling from Dyson.

Attendees heard from a remarkable line-up of game-changing speakers on the main stage – who all shared their invaluable, expert insight into the issues that really matter to women – as well as providing actionable advice for all attendees to incorporate into their daily routines. The programme included workshops on manifestation and affirmation with Roxie Nafousi, Megan Crabbe, Shei Mamona and Louise Boynton on body positivity, while a number of separate break-out areas hosted smaller workshops and seminars. See the Glamour website for more information on the programme.

Glamour and the Venue Hire team worked alongside Somerset House’s accredited suppliers Light Motif (production), KERB (food) and Bubble (drinks) to produce this inaugural – and now annual – celebratory event.
