This panel brings together collectors, academics and art-world voices with distinct perspectives on how engagement with African art is evolving across the continent and internationally. Drawing on personal experience, research and professional insight, the speakers will consider what is driving new interest, how questions of value, provenance and access are being navigated, and what long-term stewardship means in a growing global market.
The conversation will explore the relationship between modern and contemporary practices, while reflecting on the roles of collectors, auction houses, galleries, scholars and institutions in building knowledge and engagement. From established collections to emerging areas of scholarship and collecting, the discussion will offer a timely look at the opportunities and responsibilities that accompany growing global interest in African art.
